Windsurfing: Felixstowe Dip Wind Direction: ENE Wind Stength: F4/5 Surf / Sea State: Chop / Flat Air Temperature: 20C Sea Temperature: warm Weather: Sunny Max Speed: 25.19 (knots - unless stated otherwise) Distance Covered: 28.5 (Nautical Miles - unless stated otherwise)
This ranks as one of my best sails ever (10 stars), sunny, warm, flat chop
some waves, loads out ENE wind protected by the sand bar, just a brilliant
days sailing. Arrived midday, and the early sailors said they had a good
time but the wind was dropping from 6M weather. Rigged 7.7 Hellcat / 146L
Excite ride pro and was planning great going out - but a little under
coming.
Tried the river but wasn't much different then the wind freshened, swopped
to 120L Ex ride pro and had a great session burning all over. GPS settled
at 23kts till met Colsey on the same leg, with the inevitable drag race
heading to France as I wasn't backing off. Dave went way down wind to
defend his lead turning miles out. That was a 25kt drag race absolutely
brilliant in roughish sea further out.
Very tired by 7.00pm and couldn't get back up wind, so did the walk of
shame 6 groins down. Lucky I had boots on!
Loads out sailing as tide was still mid tide coming in loads of kites.
Shame not much rolling NE waves, just flat water near kite zone then chop,
with some swell coming.
Formula heads Dave and Nick went out with 11M burning down to Languard and
back, nutters!
Swopped to waist harness all day - which I have to say was comparable to
using my seat harness to generate speed. Should have swopped back to seat
to prove either way on the GPS
